| A Little History
1960 & 1961 Jimmy had 2 songs on the Billboard chart 1973 Jimmy performed on The Grand Ole Opry We had Nashville Video Showcase on Cable Access for 13 years. There was no cost to the station, so we never charged our guests to be on the show. We also played major and indie artists videos at no charge. The show was aired in Nashville and Hendersonville TN only. We did show it on our website, also. The indie artists loved the fact that they would be on a TV show shared with major artists videos. We had Chris Young on several times through the years, Eddie Raven, hundreds of Independent artists, as well as Opry performers. It was a one hour show and it took a lot of work, equipment and time, but we wanted the indie artists to have an outlet to show their talent off, since so many of them could stand up to a major artist any day. We screened our talent so they could be on a show they could be proud to be a part of. Jimmy, Carolyn and I worked very hard to make it right. Then we felt it was time to take it to another level, and changed the name to Smart Country. We aired on Pax TV, now the Ion Channel, but there was a fee to the station, naturally. But we knew there would be all that exposure the artists didn't have on Cable Access, such as 960,000 households. We taped our show on Wednesday nights and aired a new show every Thursday at 4:30pm - 5:00pm. We got so many calls, and soon realized just how many folks watched Smart Country. Everywhere we went people would come up to us to say they loved the show, the artists, the Muppets, the way we co-hosted and that they watched every week. Well, now we are back. We missed seeing all our guests. | |
